How to Grow Celery

How to grow celery

Grow celery from seeds in late March or April, then move the plug plants into the raised bed when the plants are big enough to handle. We supply them as plug plants.

Keep celery moist at all times,  do not let it dry out. Keep the area weed free but be careful not to disturb the stems.

The plants will benefit from a feeding with a nitrogen fertiliser (garden centres etc will sell this) mid way through the season, or ask your Goody Foody Gardener.

You can harvest the celery from August to September. Cut the stems with a sharp knife away form the roots.

They will not survive frost so make sure they are cut before that and enjoy them in a delicious home cooked meal.
