How to Grow Strawberry Mint

Strawberry Mint

Planting

Strawberry Mint is a fantastic herb. It can be used as a garnish in cocktails, or as a tasty ingredient in summer salads and desserts. It can also be used to make a delicious fruity herbal tea.

When you brush past this herb you will smell the full aroma of strawberry. Plant it in a container near your kitchen or back door. This herb will take over any container, so best to plant it in a Goody Foody Garden windowsill box or in its own pot.

Growing

Plant this herb in sun or partial shade in a pot or container. It spreads rapidly so do not put it into the veggie bed or it will take over! It has light coloured flowers during the summer and should be cut back regularly.

Harvesting

Prune this plant regularly as it is a fast and invasive grower. Cut back after it flowers in the summer. It is perennial meaning it will come back for more than two years, so take care of this one and you will be rewarded with a gorgeous herb for cocktails and summer recipes over and over again.
